Winter Woman
Andrea Hill, a Canadian journalist, is an environmental powerhouse. Andrea is an environmental journalist who graduated from Carleton University's School of Journalism. From a young age, Andrea has showed a lot of interest for two things in life; writing and the environment. She loves these things so much that she decided that she wanted to become an environmental journalist. After graduating Andrea got a job for the Postmedia News parliamentary bureau, and her first task was to write about the Norwegian Arctic. Andrea said “for a person that really doesn’t like the cold this was a pretty daunting task.” (Hill, Life in the Norwegian Arctic) Andrea packed up her bags and flew out to Norway for three months. During her time there she kept a blog of all of her discoveries and observations. She has survived some pretty gnarly stuff and shows this in her blog through a humorous rhetoric and relatable style of writing. This form of rhetoric creates a connection between reader and writer. In her readings she described a time that she was “ stranded alone knee deep in snow.”(Hill, Life in the Norwegian Arctic) and you could almost feel her anxiety. Andrea is a very interesting journalist that you should watch out for in the near future.[1 Picture, 2 Quotes, 211 words]
