Spotlight
Spotlight is a more recent film about journalism from 2015 about the true story of the Boston Globe uncovering the hidden scandal of child molestation in the Catholic Church. This film depicts six main journalists who begin seeing discrepancies in stories told by people about pastors in their Church. This leads to a massive reveal of the local Archdiocese covering up the fact that the molestation of children was going on. The film has incredible performances of the cast getting to the bottom of this through depressing interviews with people. It shows the great lengths that journalists will go to expose the truth. "We've got two stories here: a story about degenerate clergy, and a story about a bunch of lawyers turning child abuse into a cottage industry. Which story do you want us to write? Because we're writing one of them." This quote from the film said by Walter Robinson being portrayed by Micheal Keaton indicates the tenacity of the team of journalists and what they were going to do to make things right. The website linked is the real true article posted in the Boston Globe on January 6, 2002.
