Apple News vs Flipboard vs Google News vs Twitter

This post is the comparison of Apple News, Flipboard, Google News, and Twitter. A more in-depth analysis can be found by clicking on the platform’s respective link.

While all of the platforms are at least somewhat geared towards distributing news, each one has its own unique spin. All platforms utilize a rather clean design to emphasize the article links instead of some flashy ad thrown somewhere on the page. Each platform allows you to tune your interests by selecting topics which interest you, or by following them in the case of Twitter. Apple News, Flipboard, and Twitter put the main emphasis on the featured image of the article, while Google News opts to put the spotlight on the article’s title. Being a social media network, Twitter is the most social platform mentioned, and allows users to retweet, comment, and like articles, while the other platforms are more focused on providing the particular user with the best experience possible.
